Remodeling kitchen is no small task

Who doesn’t love a nice, comfortable, cozy atmosphere in the kitchen and being surrounded by family and friends with tasty food and drinks? While many of us have only dreamed about perfect kitchen for cooking and entertaining, now there is a way to make this dream reality.

And even though remodeling kitchen is no small task and the whole process seems very overwhelming at the beginning, but with the help of the professional company that can do templating, fabrication and installation, the process becomes much easier.

Here are some factors to consider while remodeling kitchen

  • Which countertop to choose?

A lot of people still think that granite is very expensive, and even though it might have been true several years ago, but nowadays with access to quarries all over the world and technological shipment advantages, most companies can import granite at a much lower rate. And with the latest unique production process the job cost can be reduced. Professional companies, for example, like Stone Spirit Inc., use some of the latest and advanced technological process which allows not only to complete the job faster, but at a lower rate. This allows to provide the best results for the countertops, faster fabrication and installation process than traditional manual methods with low quality and not polished and bumpy surfaces and edges.

  • Is it possible to put granite Into an existing backsplash?

This can be difficult to do because the granite thickness is probably going to be different from your previous countertop. In that case, you would need to raise the countertop deck height or replace the bottom of backsplash tile with a custom piece, but of course, it would need to match the existing backsplash and new countertop. But it’s best to replace the existing backsplash either with tile or run 4″ backsplash with the same granite or quartz material.

  • Sink Mounting

The most common method of sink installation is under-mounted to the bottom of the granite countertops. The edge lip is mounted under a solid surface and it allows the sink to be effectivly under the counter It gives a very nice look with continues flow from countertop to sink and much better functionality than drop in sink method installation. There is another benefit to under-mount sink installtion – this method makes it much easier to clean countertop, as it is very easy to wipe and clean right into the sink.
This type of mounting is excellent for solid surface materials like granite, quartz, marble, or concrete.

  • Overhang and Sink Mounting

Granite typically overhangs cabinets between 1 inch and 1.25 inches. It is recommneded somewhere around 12 to 16 inches overhang for eating areas.
