Backsplash is a great place for a design focus with different patterns, tiles, decorative pieces. But for the most coverage, it might be a good idea to have a backsplash covering from the countertop all the way till the cabinets
Countertops
When it comes to countertops, the finishes can be quite different from highly polished, matte or even textured. Keep in mind that reflective surfaces require more upkeep and they will show scratches faster. If there is a lot of sunlight in the kitchen, then highly reflective surfaces might be not a good idea, as there will be a reflection in the eyes.
There are hundreds of options of different countertops with a variety of colors and textures, so take your time to make the right decision and you can enjoy a wonderful kitchen and bathroom many years ahead. Take into consideration durability, maintenance, looks, style, your design preferences, the layout and colors of other parts of your kitchen and the bathroom, as it needs to create one look. But of course, it doesn’t mean it needs to blend. Creating some contracts is always a good idea, but the colors have to match and flow together.
